Title: Stainless Steel fuel line for 2276 with IDA : opinions / ideas ?
Post by: guillaume on February 23, 2009, 23:13:30 pm
Hello,

I am planning to build a rigid stainless steel fuel line for my engine. It is a 2276 with weber IDA and DDS short manifolds.

I've never done a stainless steel fuel line before, and never for that kind of engine.

What would be the ideal tube diameter in millimeters ? I often read 8 millimeters for the fuel line instead of the stock one. Is it the inside or outside diameter ?

I plan to make a fuel line like this model (see picture). The 2 rounds are loops to prevent from vibrations (like a hard spring). Do you think the loops are usefull or can I make a straight line? The fitting will be early AN still. But what is the best size? What kind of banjos do you recommend ?

Thanks for your help. I will really appreciate it. If someone already do it, don't hesitate to post photos  :)

Eric (HotrodVW) is the man you're looking for, he does this for a living.
Try sending him a PM, perhaps?

But their is no tech info like diameter,
What size is your inlet valve in the carb?  2.5mm?  If so, a tube with 5mm ID or larger would be more than enough.
