Title: What kind of oilpump to use for a typ 4
Post by: Eddie DVK on March 03, 2009, 07:35:12 am
Hello,

If I want to replace my oilpump on mine typ4 engine which one do I use? a typ 1? if yes which one.
I don t want to reuse my old typ 4 one in my rebuild 2.0 engine.
Little info on the Engine is:
71 standard crank
94mm typ 1 pistons
316 BAS cam
Solid lifters
40mm webers.

Kind regards Edgar

The original oil pump makes enough pressure , so if you have a good used it is ok . You can also take a type1 HD 26 mm early version - 68

Thanks for the info.
Yep I know it makes enough pressure, but it looks worn, I am putting together a new
engine so don t want to use old pieces.
So I will look for a 26mm pump then, do I need a Oil pressure relief Pump cover?

Kind regards Edgar
