I ran "these" for years in the 1990's (bought them from Beck Arnley) on all the cool kids' cars that ran 010's and bought stuff from me @ Buggy House. When I worked at the various auto parts stores and dealerships as a parts technician, we'd sell tons of 'em. Every time someone did a tuneup, they bought one. I've used the same one in my Volvo wagon (car has mostly German parts including Bosch) since 1994. It doesn't wear out. I have no idea how old the one in my BMW is. But when I take it off to check the wear, it looks fine.
To each their own, but I just don't buy into the theory of replacing 'em as often as most people do. But when I build my big engine for my '67, I'll be sure to find a new (or like new) correct cap for my .010 distributor. Thanks for the tip, 1970. Good to know that there ARE suppliers out there with the goods. Popped off easy with a screwdriver and it wont be a problem now, so just have a quick look inside before you snap it on.

Nope! You can get a Pertronix for an 010 (also fits 019 and Porsche's 022). But it will set you back a Franklin. If you can find one that will drop in for $50, that's a great deal. Restored, figure $150, at least.
