Title: Nice new roller crank
Post by: RobtheManx on March 16, 2009, 22:45:14 pm
Hello all , I'm one of the fifty percent Russel Ritchie says don't post , been a member for ages but not got round to posting .

Thought I"d post some pics (because Monkiboy told me to ) of my 82 mm SPG rebuilt , polished , pinned,  welded , balanced and wedgemated , by Gary Holznecht of Lil Snort fame .

Engine is gonna be a 2180cc  , Dean Lowry heads , DDS cam , empi sump , DDS oil pump , DDS manifolds , IDAs and 9.5 pound flywheel . Hardly anything new in the whole engine !!!

Let me know your thoughts , Rob

Looks AWSOME dude - mine should be back from balancing today - I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

That crank has the narrow rods that were made to work with the Empi 88mm Slipper Skirt pistons.
If you plan on using anything else, you'll have to make spacers for each side of the little end to take up the space.

Dang, that's what I'll need someday if I plan to go the roller crank route...

You don't mean that Keith ?

Its gonna be a race engine  , Mr Holznecht is putting it together for me . I just can't wait to hear it .

Some people know what car it's going in , don't think I'm brave enough to put it in the buggy .

Monkiboy will never beat me , he bolts too much stuff to his car , ha ha
