Title: Potential Cal Look Candidates
Post by: Rennsurfer on April 26, 2009, 06:14:31 am
Sorry if these have been posted here before. But check out the white car @ 4:21 on the first video. Note the door and rear ¼ window sizes. If you don't smile while watching these cars being built, then please simply send your air-cooled VW to me and I'll make sure that it's well taken care of.

This silver car, in this one, would make a great Cal Looker, in my opinion.

Too bad that Mexican Beetles are expensive to bring up to D.O.T. standards. They can't be that much money to buy. I'd love to Cal Look one.

There is a car like the silver one parked in my street every day, but is is champagne/bronze coloured. Nice  8) And give it wheels and the stance and I believe it would make for a marvelous very late looker.

Haven't seen the owner yet, it's a student, probably sleeps by day, parties  ...eeerr, studies by night  ::)

Too bad they stop building it, but can someone have imagined in the 30's that you could buy a new one 70 years later ! I think it's something that will never happen again in the industry. And I don't talk aboutthe New Beetle or the Golf, they produce it since 35 years, but what a '74 mk1 and a '09 mk6 have in common ?

I think the white one was a taxi prototype. The longest door on the right is to help people coming inside.
