Title: Gas burners, tubes & tires...
Post by: roland on May 03, 2009, 23:49:34 pm
So I've had new tires on my gasburners, had them mounted with tubes... Been like that on my fuchs for years, never had a problem... I know it's not the best option though...

And now after about 200km, there was a leak around the valve stem of the tube and the tire went flat... So, is there another solution than tube in those? A special stem?

sorry for the irrelevant question, but why do you need tubes in them? i am going to run my fuchs without tubes...

I have larger stems in my wheels, think the guy who put the tyres on referred them as "truck stems" ??? No leakage so far with Gas Burners.

I was going to try inner tubes with the Fuchs on the other car just to be on the safe side. But what caused the tube to leak in your case? Just old tubes?

I guess just that the old wheels are tube-type and the tyre can come off the wheel in certain situations (like deflating).

Are your wheels painted in the drop center?  Any corrosion in the hole for the stem?

No paint & no corrosion... I'll ask for big valve stems then...

DOT slicks, tubes, gasburners and lots of burnouts + launches but never any leaks. Reason - I glued the DOT`s to the rim making sure they did not spin on the wheel draging the tube with them and destroying the valve.
