Yep, you gotta watch out for those pesky off-set main bearings.... Let's see, 1776=2000? New math.

I think this is the updated version of the ad ;) (What makes a person post an ad like this ???-absolutely ridiculous!)

RARE 2L type 2 (3, 4, or 5) engine 1776cc   Price: make serious offer (or at least make your offer with a straight face)
All parts are new (and more than likely installed incorrectly) including 34 dual Solex type 2 carbs.Does not run (or else I would have installed it already my car) needs to be looked at by professional mechanic (or anyone with more than 5 minutes of experience with VW engines and the ability to read and understand a shop manual).Main bearings may be off centered (or it might just be the case and crank that's off centered).A experienced builder could make a nice little engine out of this mess (by tearing it completely down and starting over with a full checkbook).  I'd post pics but my camera needs to be looked at by a professional the batteries are lopsided. :)

Isn't that amazing? Yeh, gotta get me one of those 1776, 2 liter jobs. Maybe he means when your just cruising it's a 1776, but when you get on it , it becomes this MAD 2 liter. Yuk Yuk! :P
