Title: Re: help me fix my laptop Post by: Rennsurfer on June 06, 2009, 04:06:13 am Glad that you fixed and that you're running XP. If you guys ever wanna get rid of me... destroy every copy of XP and replace 'em with Vista. I'll never use the 'Net again.
;D So... what was the glitch? Title: Re: help me fix my laptop Post by: John Rayburn on June 06, 2009, 04:14:28 am Go get a Mac ,Jim and your problems will go away.

Usually <ctrl>+<alt>+<up arrow> will restore it for most but not all video cards. Vista is not too bad. But Windows 7 is better, I'm running a beta version on my tablet PC and I really like it. Right after the classic, I'm gonna wipe my laptop an put the Release Candidate version on it which will be very close to the version that will sell in the fall when it's released. No that's not how I fixed it. Title: Re: help me fix my laptop Post by: stealth67vw on June 08, 2009, 04:32:43 am Glad that you fixed and that you're running XP. No that's not how I fixed it. It could be worse. I've got a co-worker who's daughter a little older than your son. She thinks it's fun to rip the keys out of the laptops keyboard. I've replaced the keyboard twice in less than 6 months! Title: Re: help me fix my laptop Post by: Rennsurfer on June 09, 2009, 00:50:50 am Ouch! Jim and Rick... those stories are a bummer. But kids are kids. Gotta love 'em. When my older boy (now 18) was in grade school, he got on my computer, one morning, before school and pressed something that made everything on my desktop HUGE. I mean to the point where one icon was bleeding off of the screen.
I called my 'puter tech. friend and he walked me through it. Eskeered the crap outta me. My brand new IBM back in the '90s wasn't exactly cheap, either. HAHA!! Now, my son's editing/producing/making great movies on pc and Mac computers. We still joke about that one morning, though.
