Title: Not Cal Look but my newest project Post by: Frenchy Dehoux on June 08, 2009, 23:35:04 pm Here are a few pictures of my newest project a 1932 Hot Rod Lincoln V 12 powered. Also for everyone to know this body has been powder coated and not primer paint . Next I will have Pin Up Girls airbrushed on the front 1/4 panel and red with white pin stripping. Possibly another month and it should be done. You can see additional pictures of the car on the H.A.M.B web site under search type in 32 Hot Rod Lincoln you can view pictures as I was putting the car back together or on our website at ( Frenchysrides.com ).

Some guy called me a while a go from Chicago after I had posted pictures of it on another site asking if the car was for sale. I told him the wiring needed to be done and a little more detailing and I wasn't interested in selling it yet. No Pro Tip, there. I've been on the Internet, moderated forums, etc. since the early '90s when you were about 10 years young or so. Pretty sure I can read an emoticon fairly well. Thanks, but I got it from here. Sorry, Frenchy. As to be expected, you've completed another work of art. Enjoy your new creation and document it well, like you always do. Looking very forward to the NSU project, as well. Title: Re: Not Cal Look but my newest project Post by: rick m on June 09, 2009, 03:03:36 am Hey Frenchy...I wonder if anyone noticed your flathead was a V-12 Lincoln? Great piece of work, as always. This is one of the nicest renditions of an original era hot rod I've seen done. Nice work!

Title: Re: Not Cal Look but my newest project Post by: Frenchy Dehoux on August 31, 2009, 05:48:44 am I am happy to report today that after 6 years of working on my 1932 Hot Rod Lincoln project it is done and today was the very first drive out of the garage with the car. Other than a few detail to finish. I had bought the car soon after I had sold my 1954 Cal Looker. Back in 8 / 30 / 2003 bought the 32 as a project I always wanted and today 8 / 30 / 2009 six years to the day I was able to debut the car in the Arizona hot weather. Soon I will have the NSU project in the garage and get started. Thanks Frenchy ( Doctor Detail ) Title: Re: Not Cal Look but my newest project Post by: Rennsurfer on August 31, 2009, 06:13:49 am Congrats, Frenchy. Also I am thinking to take the car to Calif next year and go the the Garden Grove cruise night on Friday night on Main street and the Donut the Rellics in Huntington Beach on Saturday and after that a show on Sunday somewhere in town I want to make it a weekend of showing the car. Frenchy Title: Re: Not Cal Look but my newest project Post by: Rennsurfer on December 10, 2009, 07:27:02 am I've never been to the Garden Grove one... but I sometimes hit the Donut Derelicts one in H.B. My best friend of almost 40 years helped start that event. It's been going strong for many years. Please post up when you're going to be out with the car. I'd love to see it in person.
Or, if you're close to Peoria, I'm out there a couple times a year to see my sister and friends that live in AZ. Title: Re: Not Cal Look but my newest project Post by: Frenchy Dehoux on January 18, 2010, 23:55:24 pm This past weekend I took the 1932 Hot Rod to our local Saturday night cruise night at the Scottsdale Pavillion in Scottsdale AZ. But this Saturday we were told if you wanted to have a good space you needed to arrive early in the morning to be safe and if you wanted to have a good spot to park your car. So I arrived at 3:00 AM and I was the second person there. I had parked the car near the lights so that in the evening the car would stand out better. We were also told that Barrett Jackson were going and attend this Car Show and pick one of their favorite car with an award. Well 4:00 PM some of my friends Hot Rodders were pointing out to me that the crew of Barrett Jackson were walking around and looking at cars and a few minutes later sure enough here was the crew looking at my Hot Rod Lincoln under the chassis and looking everywhere and talking to me asking questions. Steve the CEO of Barrett Jackson had pulled me aside and told me that my Hot Rod was his style of Hot Rod and how Detailed it was and how clean it look and he also like the fact that I had installed a Lincoln V12 engine if he only new my nick name ( Doctor Detail LOL ). He also asked me if I was going and be around for a while I replied I would be here for a few more hours. An hour later they called my name on the speaker to announce that I was the pick of the night for Barrett Jackson and they also announced that this car had a great look and that everyone needed to go and check it out. For me to have been given an award by the Barrett family was way too cool. I was given a nice size trophy with the Barrett Jackson name on the trophy. On my way back to the car I was amazed how many people had gathered around the car after the award was given. I know that a lots of pictures and videos were taken through out the day. Also talked to Speed Vision and Hemming Motor News people. In all it was a great show.
Thanks Frenchy Title: Re: Not Cal Look but my newest project Post by: Dan Mazur on January 18, 2010, 23:59:30 pm Will your car appear on the up-coming Barrett-Jackson Auctions this week???
Title: Re: Not Cal Look but my newest project Post by: Frenchy Dehoux on January 19, 2010, 00:02:20 am I am not planning to take this car to Barrett Jackson but they were just judging this show to promote their auction. Thanks Frenchy Title: Re: Not Cal Look but my newest project Post by: Ivan on January 31, 2010, 23:57:26 pm Frenchy, your car is stupéfier!
I don't think I need say anything else. Oh, what mileage has the Zephyr motor got on it - as I heard they need a rebuild after 30K. I'm sure you've been right through it, and ultimately - who cares - it's insane! Title: Re: Not Cal Look but my newest project Post by: red baron on February 01, 2010, 18:37:55 pm Woa what a neat Hot Rod, really sweet finish, and a perfect pinstriping and lettering. the engine is a dream and fits really nice...
Title: Re: Not Cal Look but my newest project Post by: Fastbrit on February 01, 2010, 18:55:23 pm Frenchy, your car is stupéfier! As Frenchy is one of the acknowledged engine experts when it comes to V12 Zephyrs, I think we can safely assume it's been done right. But, as you say, who cares - it if went 'bang' what a tale that would make! :DI don't think I need say anything else. Oh, what mileage has the Zephyr motor got on it - as I heard they need a rebuild after 30K. I'm sure you've been right through it, and ultimately - who cares - it's insane! Title: Re: Not Cal Look but my newest project Post by: Frenchy Dehoux on February 03, 2010, 02:59:04 am Thank You to all of you for the nice comments about the car. I have built so far 14 of these V12 and I know all of the issues they had back in the days. I am in the process of having to build 2 more of them since my Hot Rod has been out. I like all cars in general.
