Title: Advice on rear tyres, 205/70/15 but what brand? Post by: si66 on January 17, 2007, 18:15:03 pm Just after a little advice on which brands you guys recommend for rear tyres in size 205/70/15 mounted on 6" fuch. I'm running 4.5" with 145 xzx on the front and wondered what you guys think would complement these.

Post by: Rune on January 17, 2007, 18:41:38 pm Not sure really, I ran 205/70 Firestone F560s for a couple of years, but they are reinforced and are very very heavy tires.. Actually most 205/70 tires are reinforced and ment for vans and other heavy vehicles.

Yeah since then I learned the hard way, allthough it wasn't the lugnut but the missing splitpen in the axle nut that gave me trouble... like loosing rear wheel >:( pic was taken at 200 km/h on the dyno, lucky it didn't flew off then!! Post by: 48IDA66 on January 24, 2007, 01:48:22 am I have a set up with F-560 Firestone on my fusch, but when I try to find another set for my "Burners" I was not very lucky, imposible to find!!( at that time), It turn out that I got me a pair of Semperit 205/70/15 and found out after a season of driving, that they are mutch better then the Firestone, more steady and fast schoulders then the Firestone, well just my experience.... ;)

When I owned the white ragtop '63 car that I sold to Matt Sanchez, and he still has now, I ran it on either 205 or 215/70 series tyres - it was a long time ago now and I can't remember exactly - but if you drove it hard on 'B' roads the tall profile made it feel too skittish - driving at speed through corners felt dodgy - especially with skinny 145 front tyres. So, when I went for wider tyres on the back of my '67 I went for Dunlop SP2000 - not cheap but really good tyres - they were £100 plus fitting from memory - but perfect. see. http://www.dunloptyres.co.uk/ourTyres/car/searchResults/SP2000/ I'm happy with these - they feel great and are tall enough in the looks department.
