Title: Ride Height Issue-
Post by: Chris W on July 22, 2009, 05:53:16 am
I am having issues getting the ride height right on my front of my 66.

This issue is that the drivers side sits 1/2-3/4 of a inch higher and I have run out of camber adjustment and still have to much. All the torsion bars are in and good. I thought it would need a rear spring plate adjustment, but the rear is almost dead on. It sits 5mm lower on the passenger side, so any adjustment there would make it worse. Everything measures straight, beam, frame head, fenders are the same, spindles ect.

Could it be just that the drivers side of the torsion bars is used up? That would not account for the camber issue though.

Any ideas or things to check, I am running out of ideas!  :(

Are your fenders German? I've seen aftermarket fenders make the car look and measure lower on one side compared to the other.

The fenders are German, that was my second thought. First was the rear being off.

Don't measure from the fenders to the ground.  They have variance.  Instead, measure from the pan to the ground.  I bet you'll get a different picture.

What about the camber issue? Control arm maybe?

Get the pan level to the ground first.
