Title: Over the top Cal Look Interior from 1977 - Good Ole Herculon!
Post by: rick m on August 03, 2009, 07:24:58 am
I could not resist posting my headliner and some interior shots from my Cal Looker in 1977. Most of my buddies were doing the plaid inserts in their seats and door panels but I went crazy and decided to use the dash and door panel insert material on the headliner.  I would not do it again...as I like the clean look of a white headliner against the other colors. What the heck...  I was a lot younger and it was different.

I always loved that car, and now this, aaarghh.  ;D ;) Special

It's like the sagging breasts in Playboy, typically what the magazines don't show  ::)

Yeah, I know.  If you were having a bad day, you could lean back, stare at the headliner and it would take you to another place.  It was a bit much.

say what you want about it being too much with the headliner, but that home-made padded dash looks ace! i'm digging the photo taken from the rear seat!! ;D

Thanks for the nice compliments on the dash.  It was unique and different at the time. I used OPEL GT guages when building the dash. It was a simple install. The speedo actually hooked right up to my stock VW speedo cable.  The tach and other items were simple installs too. Just got the OPEL sending units for the other guages and everything worked fine!
