Title: flat eight VW
Post by: kingsburgphil on August 29, 2009, 09:19:26 am
Anyone out there got pics of the Fittipaldi brothers twin engine VW race car? I remember seeing cut away drawings of the engine(s) layout back in the early
70's. They were quite successful with a 3 liter VW against various "real" race cars of the era.

I'd like to see a modern copy with twin 2.4's with a Wiseman transaxle, a tube subframe and real brakes.....scary  :o

Thank you very much, great pic's. Seeing these for the first time!! Brings up a hundred questions about the car ???
It looks like it was built and raced in the fifties, not the sixties. Any ideas how they coupled the cranks together?
