Title: Oberg filter mount
Post by: javabug on September 03, 2009, 16:20:39 pm
Really hate to ask, but...

Does anyone have clever examples to show mounting an Oberg 600?  I have think I know how I am going to do mine, but before I commit to my idea a last-minute query might lead to something better.  Simplicity and easy accessibility are a plus.

Thanks.

Have a Berg style rear engine mount? Bolt it to that.

That was fast...

You mean the rear engine hanger?  I have one but it isn't installed yet as I want to change the way it mounts to the car.  That's an interesting idea, though.  I'll keep that in mind for sure.

That's what I am thinking, with a big piece of angle aluminum.  If it isn't too much of a hassle that pic would be great.  Thanks.

Here's how I have had mine mounted for years.  The aluminum is about 3/16in. thick.

Thanks Donny.  That is actually the same filter I have.  My thinking was get a piece of angle to bolt to the bumper bracket, but the filter would then be vertical.  Yours looks a bit simpler so I might just go with that.

Unless I mount it to the inside of the decklid on a hinge—when I open the lid it will swing down and hit me in the forehead.   ;D

Thanks guys, I'll just go with that method.  Nice and straightforward.
