H pattern G50 gearbox, vw pan with IRS. Still a lot more to come and the weather forecast for tomorrow is excellent.

Didn't they run an 8.xx at the end of last year?  Perhaps it was a dream?  Congrats regardless!

I've seen some vids of that green Willys pickup already...kinda wild!

They did run a 8.6x something in Sweden last year but never really trusted the timeslip. On my way up to the track now and the weather is very nice. It will be hot (Norwegian hot, not California hot) during the day but right now the temp is just perfect. They will get 1 more qualifying run before the eliminations starts today.

Congratulations to Tor Øyvind and driver Jens Petter! There is enough power available to put a fright in most race cars, and all of the spectators!
We trust in you Jens Petter  8)

Worlds fastest WW2 car???

Perhaps in the same picture, to the right... a true wartime Jeep! The pickup model was introduced in 1947... :P

WOW! Fantastic!! And this is a all-steel pan car!!  8)

The conditions at Gardermoen is perfect now, dray weather for a few weeks, nice temp at 20-25 degrees Celsius, lots of fresh rubber at the track from pro-mods and door slammers with the sun and Trackbite keeping it really sticky ;)

Things can break, might just be smart to bring a trailer...   ::) even if JP can drive it home again...  provided they brought the street legal tyres.

Congratulations on the 8.71 boys!!

Incredible to watch how straight the car is now. Look at the white marker on the steering wheel in the video. Wow!

On behalf of Tor Øyvind Skinne:

“Thank you for all the positive replies!
I am really happy with this weekends result still using the H-pattern shift and pump gas (E85).
I think I’m on the borderline of what the stock G50 tranny will hold…

There is still some fine tuning to do. Power shifting has been tested on the street, but not on the dragstrip, so time will show.

I have to take a talk with the driver if he wants some more boost.

Tnx for the translation Cassa!
Very cool to read Tor's thoughts and considerations.

I agree with the last poster though: The boost question would be academic for most of us drivers haha!
