When I build motors I always look for sharp edges and round them off and polish other areas to keep the oil to flow back. Also check the lifter bores to make sure they do not have too much play side to side. And many other area prior to assembly

Doing it for the last 2 weeks. Rough edges, casting flash etc. On the flywheelside i found that the bottom 3/8 plug almost fell out due to  ??? Had to tap to M18 x 1.5 before i actally had solid meat to hold the bolt... (This is a new mag case).

Deburring a case to remove sharp machined edges is a must. Sharp edges are stress risers that promote cracking. I have just pulled appart a low mileage mag case that has been bored and stroked without any attention to sharp edges and the bearing saddle at no 1 main has two hairline cracks about half an inch long each. Not good!
