Title: Turbo drain size
Post by: Andy Sykes on April 10, 2014, 20:31:19 pm
Hi planning my turbo drain route the turbos are twin GTX3575R with an -an10 drain as they are BB cores they have a differnt oil feed rate to plain bearing so I'm thinking I may get away with a T in the drain and into the rocker cover so they will both drain down 1 -an10 or just over 1/2" id tube or should I up to -an12 at the T to add the case will be under - pressure

Cheers Andy

Andy, -12 down from the tee would be good in principle, you can't have too big a drain, but it may just be too clumsy to route round everything else, I would try for -10 x 2, one from each turbo into each valve cover, I take it you have high mounted turbos, so they will have a good gravity drain head on them, no need to scavenge pump high mounts.
