Title: The best place to fit an MSD 6AL box ?
Post by: Baz54 on April 02, 2015, 00:04:52 am
Hi, Where is the best place to fix an MSD 6AL unit, under the rear seat, the back of the bulkhead in the luggage area, behind the fan shroud or
somewhere else?
Thank you,Paul.

Closer to engine means less wire run distance. Doesn't really matter though.

Mounted mine under the seat, worked for me!

Yep, under the rear seat, opposite side to the battery (obviously!). Dry and close to the motor / loom.

I did one in the luggage area for my friend, for the "bling". Would prefer under the seat myself.

I build a bracket for mine out of aluminum and put it under the rear seat...

Here is another photo I have found of the way I set mine up.
It is in the R&D phase all connected up to the pizza box template.
You can see that I have flipped the box over to fit the wires better and for a cleaner install between R&D and finished product...
The box was used when I got it and came with some short wires.
The black terminal strips were salvaged from some old residential furnaces as that is what I used to do for a living.
They made the wiring much nicer to deal with.
