Title: Door handle question... Post by: Nico86 on May 06, 2016, 01:01:15 am ...so I have the opportunity to pick up a pair of 68>79 beetle door handles and of course, each door handle has a different key. I would like to put them on my car and to keep a single key for ignition and doors.
So I would like to know if it's possible to remove the "locking barrels" from the old handles I currently have on my car, and to put them onto other door handles? (all are OEM german VW parts) I have done that on many Mk1 and 2 Golfs, but I have no idea if that's possible to do on a Beetle. Thanks guys Title: Re: Door handle question... If there's some repro bits (even the older ones which tend to be better quality ) then it may be a little trickier. Best thing to do is just take them apart and do it.
