Title: Setting adjustable spring plates with heavy duty torsion bars

I`ve got a set of sway away heavy duty rear torsion bars along with a set of saw adjustable plates. Do I set the sag angle at 18 degrees as standard or because the bars are so much thicker do I set them at a lower degree? Is there enough adjustment on the plates to drop the car down a touch if I do set them at 18 degrees?  I want the m+h street tyres to fill the arches if you know what I mean.

I set them with no preload, so spring plate just rests on factory stop with 26mm and thicker bars

I personally don't think its much stiffer than stock like that with 26mm bars, just about no camber on swingaxle cars and ride height is about right

Cheers Ritchie, I'll set them to no sag. I can fine tune them with the adjustable plates.

I just put 29s in my street car. I set them much like richie describes, though mine sits a little bit on the lowered side(by design). The car rides just fine. Its 2000lbs with me in it though.

Other thing to remember is the longer they are the softer for given diameter, 26mm short is a lot stiffer than 26mm long
