Title: Hi po engine breathing!!
Post by: chateau la fete on August 08, 2017, 09:50:40 am
Just getting people's thoughts on high performance engine breathing in respect to:

tap off the block from the fuel pump mount (external fuel pump fitted)
tap off of one valve cover, or both
Or all three??

Any experiences or gains from any of the above??

I currently tap off of both valve covers and have a Berg oil filler/breather tower, but also thinking of adding a breather box, like the Clyde berg ones

Engine is a 2332 running IDA's

There is a really detailed thread on here already about this subject. May be worth a search.

I vent both valve covers and fuel pump block off into a breather tube. The drain for the tube goes in to the oil filler tube (on alternator stand)
I also believe getting oil level/capacity correct is key too. I once increased oil holding and it blew oil out of the filters on top of the breather tube

I'll take a search, cheers

I to have experimented with oil levels, due to deep sump, oil cooler etc
JMR have a very good write up on the subject of oil levels
