Title: JPM Raptor Power Jet Tuning?
Post by: neil68 on November 01, 2017, 19:47:02 pm
Putting the Beetle on the Dynojet on Friday.  Dyno time costs money.  Can anyone suggest some starting jet combinations with the Raptor Power Jet kit to get me in the ballpark?

I’ve only found one jetting stack from a 2276 cc, from all of my internet searches, but that was with F7 tubes. I’m running F4’s and also have F2’s available.

Thank you!

Neil,

Give Johannes a call, (he doesn’t bite), and has a 2276 in his blue car with the power joists and vents . I went for a couple of drives in it this summer and was really impressed. Stout performance as you would expect and really good drivability at low rpm.

Hope it all goes well tomorrow, but call him first as it will save you time on the dyno.

Peter

We are an ocean apart, so phoning is not practical, however, I did email Johannes for his suggestion.  He recommends dyno testing.

I was looking for some running examples.  It seems strange that so many of these kits are in circulation, but information about them is almost non-existent (found one jet stack example on Facebook, but that's it).

It's minus 12 degrees and snowing here, so I don't know if my Dynojet session will proceed.  I'll have to see if the IDA's will drive in these conditions, or maybe tow.

That is cold! Is that normal this time of year? I was moaning like hell this morning as it was -1, and I feel like a bit of a lightweight now!

Like you say not much point till things warm up in the spring by the sound of things.

I assume you didn’t bother.

Yes, had to cancel.  25 cm of snow and -13 degrees on Friday morning. No winter tires or heat to defrost the windscreen on the Beetle.

Unsafe to flat tow as well. Will wait for the next Chinook to blow in from the mountains:)

I located some new EMPI 51 mm carbs for a good price and they should arrive tomorrow :)

We've got a winter chinook happening at the moment, with temperatures holding at 2 to 5 degrees for the next week or two.  Might be able to get on the Dynojet if this warm weather holds!
