Title: Driving with slicks on the street
Post by: SOB/RFH on March 09, 2006, 20:27:52 pm
I used to have a set of 6/26/15 slicks on my car for a while and it was a pain in the *ss to drive when it rained.........I liked the way the rear end came out when the ZF LSD and the slicks lost traction in the pouring rain. Showing both sides of the car to those behind during the takeoff. So what is the maximum recomended speed when rain and slicks combines?

The 1959 speedo only goes to 120 km/h so the question is a bit tricky...
My '59 on the other hand has so nice paintjob that I don't take it out in the rain.  :D

I recommend ZERO unless you like doing body work and paint! :o

I must admit I have been using my 6" M&H slicks on the road...  but never more than 25 km's at the time... and only on the "highway"... and ONLY when it has been absoluteli mandatory....  you know, only for street racing and burning in nearby cities....   ::)
