Title: Italian Weber 40IDF info needed
Post by: Glauco on January 09, 2019, 09:35:46 am
Hello,

don't know if anyone can help me out here, but I wanted to ask before I screw up my otherwise perfectly good webers..
I have a pair of Italian 40 IDF weber carburetors on my karmann ghia witch I wanted to 'convert' to AN-6 fittings.
But I'm not sure that my carb's have fuel line inlets that are bolted in. my guess is that they are pressed in. is this so with 'older' style webers?
the fuel inlet doesn't have a hexagon, so that's why I assume they are pressed in rather than screwed...

thank you.

They aren't screwed in or pressed in.  The brass tubes are cast in place.

ok, that's what I was afraid of. I'll put on the fuel lines with clamps for now. why fix it when it isn't broken... :)

thank you Bruce!
