I'm sure I recall it being made at some point (maybe FTC?). Anyway I'm after that or somewhere near. There's a Weddle 4.25/2.54 but the second gear is too tall for me.

that was used for 'crawling' and beach work, (used it with a 5.43 Crown wheel and pinion), but it was quite weak in tooth size, so wouldn't recommend it for any sticky pavement! It was 4.375 (35/8 tooth count) ( first gear and 2.6154 (34/13 tooth) second gear. So yes, they WERE available.
