Title: Dry sump system
Post by: stretch on March 15, 2020, 19:43:32 pm
I’ve got a CB dry sump pump system.  Do you need to prime the system by putting oil in the motor as well as it pulling from the dry sump tank when you first run the system?  Thanks.

I put 1litre in engine before start up in my 1303 that uses the cb set up, my theory is keeps that part of pump lubricated until level gets high enough to start sucking it out of case

Priming the pump is important, but depends if your oil tank is above or below the pump. Sometimes it is necessary to place a shutoff valve to keep the from seeping into the crankcase when the motor sits for period of time.
