Hmmm, you using gasket? I have gasket with smear of black sticky stuff. Perhaps the gasket is the problem ya think?

Do you have an Ali case? If so I had to clearance a little bit underneath my case as it slightly fouled on my empi 3.5 deep sump. This prevented the sump sitting perfectly flush with the case. May be worth a look

I had that problem too Lee but clearanced the sump to allow it to fit. My guess is its the gasket compressing that's causing it.

That's an uneducated guess though  :P

It’s been so long, I can not remember if there is a gasket or not. I use Wellseal on the mating surfaces. Matt Keene recommended it to me and it’s very good.

I was using wellseal on case until I ran out and used loctite, prefer the loctite now. Forget the number. I'm gonna put sump on with just sealant this time and see how it goes.
