Title: 5.400 con rods VW journals Post by: samotorsport on November 01, 2020, 17:09:01 pm I need a new set of con rods for my 2017 ccm engine .
I don t wanna go the VW rods reworking way. Therefore i thought about H Beams , either CB or Scat . Anybody has some first hand experience on quality of both ? Price wise they are pretty close ... Thanks in advance Sam Title: Re: 5.400 con rods VW journals Post by: richie on November 01, 2020, 17:39:54 pm I have used 100s of the Scat version, always been close on weights, usually need a little work to balance still though, with the rods bolts they come with i have gone to well over 8000rpm with them a lot and never a problem, the only possible advantage of the CB rod is the smaller bolt means less clearance work on case and maybe cam with 84mm stroke and bigger but lots of people like the bigger bolts in the Scat rods for extra security :)
