Title: JPM 00806 camshaft
Post by: meule on July 07, 2021, 21:36:23 pm
Hello there,

I am looking for a replacement camshaft on my 2180cc motor that had a failed cam( FK8 )and lifters (Udo becker).
Does anyone can provide me with some more information on the JPM raptor cam 008(06) or is anyone using it on his engine?
I really can't find much more information about it other than the lift 9.64mm at the cam and advertised duration of 301°
Does anyone have a timing card for this cam?
I was told that this would be a split duration cam but can anyone tell me what would have the bigger duration lobes (in or outlet)?
Another question I have about this cam is if it is not to agressive on the lifterbores compared to the FK4x series cams?

thanks,

Wel, actually I've allready tried to contact him about 2 weeks ago thru an info request form on his website with no result so far.
I guess he must be verry bussy or maybe Swedish hollidays are a bit sooner than Belgian hollidays ;-)

thanks  for sharing the details about your camshaft.
I can see your cam type is the 008/017 and this is indeed a split duration cam as the timing card confirms.
It makes me believe the 008 that I have in mind for my application won't be a split duration cam wich answers my question for the biggest part.

I've the 00808 it's not split duration. Don't have the card as the guy who built the motor originally kept it

May I ask what kind of heads or motor size and C/R are you guys running with the 008 or  008/017?
And what about the powerband? I expect it to build some decent torque starting at 2500-3000rpm.

2276 10.2 cr 041 heads by Jeff Denham makes 170 nm @2800 but isn't at optimum due to leaking rings. Getting fixed now hope to see 200 @3000 rising to 230
