If you are talking about making stuff from scratch, the only thing I can think of is my Gearbox girdle. And the rollbar...
Mid fabrication of the girdle:

Here is another (bad) picture... still unfinished:

This is my tach that I built from a Talbot mirror and a VDO gauge. I put blue leds in it for illumination.I am kind of proud of it!My friend Dan Green spun the custom front bezel for me, so it wasn't completely done by me I guess..  :(http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p146/G-log/IMG_1234_2.jpg)

Shown in this image are my alternator mount and fill tower and center pivot throttle linkage (barely visible), my custom 4 1/2" crank pulley and my breather box.

In these images, chrome moly front beam (link pin on a ball joint pan) and custom lite weight front brakes

There's a bunch of odd bits, but I don't have photos of everything. That's one of the more enjoyable aspects of the VW thing. Building my own stuff.....just because I can

That is one cool tach mount! Has a very rally car, or even aircraft feel to it. Would go real well with a steering wheel that had some satin stainless on it.

I made a gearbox mid mount and rear engine support, mainly to save money, why pay £70 when I can make it for £20 8)

Does sheet metal count?

Again, I made it to save money as it was a budget Ghia resto.

Here are my rear jump seats loosely based on early Porsche rears, I fabbed the brackets from angled aluminum with quick release pins.

Yes, I have heat in my car.  I only need it when I travel out of state.  It usually doesn't get very cold in Phoenix. I did use it the last time I drove to Colorado.

If you're going to make your own parts, take the opportunity to improve it.  Here's my mid mount made from ally:

Not that I know of.  I lost access to the TIG, so no more from me.  I could talk you through it if you want.

BTW, that one isn't on my car.  It currently uses the Berg 5 ally version.

A couple of practice runs at making some 2 1/8 gauge mounts for the center of the dash. The plan is to have three gauges mounted where the radio opening is located. And yes I got the idea from the work Danny Gabbard did on Deano's dash. Sorry for the poor picture quality.

Ya lee I got stoned one night and wanted to see what was inside, Then I went shit how do I put it back?  So I bolted it back together. Well any way, I ran new stainless fuel and brake lines. Plus ditched stock clutch and throttle cables with morse cables from control cables. alittle heavy'r and stronger.

I got TONS of parts I made...Unfortunately I have most of them buried in the corner of the shed (back when you could walk all the way into it ;D). I started forming sheet metal parts a few years ago with the intentions of selling some stuff to make money for tools I need. Most everything I have needs minimal work done to it (hard part was done early before work started...or when we got slow ;)). Mostly polishing and drilling holes. Now that I am unemployed, I need to start finishing these parts and selling them, or installing them!

Glovebox section with cross breaks that matches my diamond pleat upholstery-Yes I am just gluing the upholstery strip in place to finish it off:
Aluminum glovebox door face that I still need to polish:
Aluminum firewall with matching cross breaks:
Some copper and stainless door sill plates that need to be drilled:

I wish I could find the headlight buckets I did from copper that are finished and tig welded :-[. Did I mention I have WAY too much crap lying around? I also have the glove box door, finished door sills, and a gauge panel made from copper for my dream "gasser" 70's build. Here is the final prototype I made before finishing the copper ones. I had to make 6 prototypes originally to get dimensions correct :o.
Here's a door sill plate that I actually (fully) polished! Now I have to do the other side ;D
(http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/546076.jpg)

Here is a completely homemade door panel that I did using the masonite I got from work...I now have all four installed and am ready to do the seats.

Carpet and binding are fitted from scratch too

I think it s for getting cold fresh air in to the engine compartment.

hi,

the airboxes are to get cool air to the hidden oilcooler, i will test if only 1 airbox will work for the oilcooler so the second will be for the engine.
