Hi everyone,

Having had my bug finished for four years now and finally the funds to restore it properly I have decided to put the car back to factory 67 and fitted with a 67 cab boot lid as at the time of building it I didn’t really appreciate it for what it was and made it look like a 66 I know I know. So after much part searching I finally have correct doors etc, but with the trim swap etc a re-spray i Roll Eyes ::)s now inevitable so my question really is if I got the car sprayed in the same colour would you say it was more custom than ever to be old school your opinions would be much appreciated, Many thanks Alex

Cool car to begin with. Glad to see that you're returning it back to it's '67 glory. Although '66 cars are nice, too. As for color, it's your car and at the end of the day, you have to be the one that's happy with it. But since you asked... Sepia Brown, or any of the other factory Porsche colors will get you started, at least.

What were you planning in regards to a muffler and wheels? At any rate, please keep us updated on the car's progress. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Nice car, I like that color, it's very 70's. Grin What I would do is remove the gravel guards on rear fenders.

It is too bad that it's not in it's original '67 glory, but it's still a good looking car and you should be proud!. It would be a ton of work and money to return it, and frankly I don't think it's worth the effort! So if it was mine, I would pull the bumpers in favor of t-bars or maybe buggy bumpers, put the chrome trim on the running boards, and adjust the stance, wheels/tires.

I like the color too. Reminds me of a 1970's Hot Wheels or Matchbox toy car.  Cool
