well bit more progress, managed to get the car pulled into my mates garrage today so thankfully the shite weather didnt put a stop to the work! again its mostly out of sight work so nothing much to show but the oil filter is now fixed in place! sorry forgot to take a pic but we basicaly made a bracket that welded between the two header pipes on the l/h side with a T off it to hold the filter head. we shortened the pipes down and plumbed it all back up again. we hit a problem with plumbing up the oil pipes to the manifold because it runs too close to the fan shroud and i cant get a fitting on it :S  the only way i can see round it is to drill a hole in the shroud and plumb the pipe straight through it!? anyway i'll see how it goes and sort it later if it proves to be a problem!

second job was to mount the coil, which we hid up in the top l/h corner out of the way, its out of harms way up there and leaves the motor looking slightly less cluttered!

we also cleaned up some of the wiring to tidy up the engine bay a little and swapped the carb back to the smaller and now clean 40mm one! she fired up straight away and picks up nice and clean! although we had to cut the fun short because the oil filter seems to have taken a knock while its been off the car and its now started pissing oil from one of the seams, sods law really!

i seem to have hit a couple of problems now, my plan was to run a decklid on  some large custom standoffs, but now i have the vallance in place propperly its proving just too flimsy and i think the weight of the lid against it at 100+mph would bend it or even smash the fiberglass wings. i cant see any way of stiffening it up without maybe welding some brackets off the header to hold it?

i was even contemplating a big wig wing for it but tbh i've never been a big fan of them. it would solve a few problems tho, and probibly make the car a bit more stable!

really not made my mind up about it!

anyway on the plus side i "accidently" gave it a bit of gas moving it back next door from the garrage and it left a cheeky no 11 without much goading so im quite looking forward to getting the filter swapped over so i can take it for a test drive down the road! Cheesy

realised i've been giving the back of the car all the lime light so heres a front shot for once!

front could idealy do with going down a touch but without some drop spindles it aint gonna happen! ah well!



and back round at bens spot. dosn't look like an awfull lot of progress but these small jobs take all the bloody time

cheers fella, its just a pitty their so damn heavy! when funds permit i think they'll be going in favour of some pro stars or centerlines, but they'll do for the moment.

well since last post i've been made redundant so progress has slowed a fair bit! but im trying to move forward where i can, the motors running quite nicely now, it still needs some tweeking but tbh thats gonna be a lot easier at the track or the dyno when i can find the money!

i've limited myself to 9psi boost for the moment while i get used to it and get it set up! i've tested it a little on the road when its quiet and it feels very promising! pulls hard from about 2500rpm, turbo spools up at about 4500rpm and it goes like hell then! Cheesy im changing at about 7000 rpm, and its just falling back nicely on boost! its probibly slow compaired to a lot of machinery on here but im pleased with it so far! cant wait to get it to the track and get some shakedown runs put in! wont be for a while tho till funds permit again!

anyway some almost finished pics...







sort of stopped now tho untill i get working again and get some more cash in! sods law!
