Hi guys,

I'm in need of information about registration regulation in the UK. Acknowledging the fact that laws have changed in the UK, though.

I just wondered if a lowered car with fat rear tyres would get a "Standard/Normal" registration or does the car need to be in "Stock" configuration?

I'm asking this because I might have some troubles registering my car in France so I'm thinking of having it registered in the UK through a friend over there and then 'importing' it back to France to register it. I know it might seem a bit complicated but as I want a standard registration I think I'll have to do this as I don't want it to be registered as an "Old Timer".

If a lowered car would pass an English MOT and get a "Standard" registration I'll go for this option, if not I'll take another path.

Thanks for letting me know,

Kind regards

a lowered car will normally pass the UK MOT, but you might have to go to a DVLA mot centre, rather than just a local garage.  it will also need to be insured over here.  Please read: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/BuyingAndSellingAVehicle/ImportingAndExportingAVehicle/DG_4022583
