Looking for advice on replacing the rubber on some running boards.....I have two German running boards that are in great shape but the rubber has paint on them...two questions....?

1. Who makes the best fitting running board rubber...?
2. Whats the best way to remove the rubber on it now without destroying the rubber  and opening the metal crimp also...?

I understand WW has the best rubber.  I have mexican VW running boards myself and have been thinking of recovering them just to remove the chrome.   I'd like Danny Gabbard to reply here, I'm sure he's got some ideas or tricks up his sleeve.

I prefer the WW rubber. I use a painters straight edge or wallpaper burnisher to pry open the crimp.

WW are the best quality in my opinion.  I've purchased with and without the chrome strip from them.
