Sorry John, I didn't mean to alter your future! I actually did a pan off on the car and made it more of a show car/real fast street car. I put a 190hp 2275 in it. The car was featured in Hot Vws after I completed it. The car was bought last year by Russell Ritchie ( a Big VW collector in Scotland) and my car is in a container right now headed to Scotland. He had bought my Dads old race car SUM FUN four years back and just bought my brothers 67 bug race car (Radical Rod) last week and it will be headed over also. All three cars will be back together again in Scotland. I live in Kansas now and have a 58 euro ragtop bug all redone.

It has really been a great hobby for me.  I have learned alot working on these cars, and have taught my sons I have always been a car guy.  Just got bit hard by the beetle.  the little car is just amazing to me.  I have several vw's in my stable, my 57 being my main focus now.  I am not to far from you in Kansas, I am in north Texas Wichita Falls, to be exact.  send me an email empioval57@gmail.com  stay in touch, you being my mentor and all!!!......
