I need some help from somebody who can speak french.  I need a Double room booked for Euro bug-in, Friday night and Saturday night.  The missus and I will be coming over.  Can anybody help me out.  Either pm me or email: mliddle@scs.hackney.sch.uk.

I have booked the ferry so this is the last thing that needs sorting.

Cheers

Because EBI is for the stars and not for everyone...... well everyone can come and park their car in the visitor parking and then go look at the show/race cars after paying the entry fee.

To me it looks more like a race competition and a show/shine competition...... and not like the cool vwgathering/meeting it should have been  (at least thats my personal point of view).

Is it just me, or does EBI  have the worst ever facilities for a vw meeting... if any ?

Rasser

Sorry to point this out but it would appear that as many people have signed up for the racing as the show and sign, this is a new show and will need time to see how the demand is, Im not sure any negative comments are needed at present, may be express your views privatly to the organseres would be more help........

Will PM hotel details where we are staying, not sure if there is any space there left !

I just donīt think itīs fair to all the "normal" Volkswagen guys out there that they canīt camp at the site!

I can understand why racers and perhaps why show/shine guys are allowed to camp at the bugin, but I canīt see why famous vw clubs get access as well - only rason being that their club is internationally well known.

Iīm lucky to be a part of MIB, and when I asked the EBI people how and where to camp they told me that we were welcome to camp (I signed the email Rasmus Thomsen - MIB), they just needed to know how many people and so on.  But thats sadly not the story when "normal" volkswagen guys ask the very same question........ Thats what I donīt like!!!!

I see no reason to contact the organiser privately, since they obviously allready have decided who will have VIP passes for EBI, and I canīt see why I canīt express my disappointment regarding their decision.

Am I really the only one that feels this way ?

To be honest I hate camping, so getting a room sorted for me is brilliant.  I can understand peoples concerns about camping, but perhaps it shoudl be on another thread not mine.  Cheers

It isnīt the camping thing - Itīs the possibility to camp on the site and thereby party etc. etc..... Instead of just "visiting" the event and paying money to go look at all the great cars.
Too me and a lot of others the party and gettogether stuff is just as important (if not more) than looking at cool cars.

Sorry to let my dissapointment ruin your thread - I will stop now

Rasser, youre 100 percent right. And if people go on the EBI site to check hotels they maybe find one website or an e-mail address. And then if youre very lucky, somebody might speak an international language.
Thanks Rasser,

I think they've got the formula right. Everyone knows that this is going to be a busy event, and as space is limited, this must be the only solution. This has to be the only way to keep the racers and show cars together so everyone can see them in the same area. Otherwise the all of the these cars will be jumbled up with cars that aren't show quality? I'm sure that you'll be able to wander round the car parks and check out everyone elses car and be able to get back to the racers and show cars.

Anyway, glad Mrs Lids doesn't have to sleep on the floor  Grin

Just imagine: You’re walking around a car, looking at it. Suddenly, after 2 minutes of watching, you discover that it isn’t show quality! HORROR! You’ve just lost 2 minutes of your precious time! And the show is so busy!  Wink

If the organizers say that they would like to have everybody camping on the track area, but there is just not enough space and they are forced to make a selection, then OK. Sad, but what can we do. But if it is done on purpose…. Then the show is not for me.

I intend to go with a group of friends from my club, so anyway we will be camping together (somewhere) and having fun Wink. But that’s not the same.
