How about a genuine later panel? I think they're still available, and not too difficult for someone with Dannys skills to modify the bumper mount area to match the '67 panel.

We've discussed going that way as well, Neil... it could be an option.

I've also run across 2 complete bodies but I feel like if I do a complete body swap, it's no longer the car from 1983. The plus side is that I would be less constricted with what I could do with it but it would be a "new" car.

Don't listen to him Rick.  Stay true to your survivor!  I know you won't be happy with that option.   Roll Eyes

Go with what's cheaper... I'm guessing that a left/front clip would be just that. I think that it's cool that you're saving the original body, Rick, per our conversation today.

Keep the faith, brother.

What a bunch of Deeks!!!  Grin

Thank you Randy, Lisa and Fred. You are all great friends!

I will pursue a replacement panel but I really don't want to wait much longer... the car has been at Danny's for almost 5 months and little has been done because of this hold up.
On the plus side.,.. I had more good leads generated in the past week than I've had since this project started.

If I can't figure something out by the first week of Dec. I'll start looking at a body swap and build a "new" car.

Thanks to all of you on The Lounge.

Where have I heard that before ??Just my 3-1/2 cents, To me what ever it takes to have a nice car, Rick I still have that same colored 67 at my shop ! and we could put the body from it on your pan and put the wrecked body on the new pan and you will still have your original car , And one to drive.

why does it have to be the car from 83? talk to Joe Larsen, yes, its his old car, NO it doesnt look anything like the old one, and he couldnt be happier. Who cares that its not exactly like it was in before you crashed it? Sentiment and a $1.45 will get you a cup of coffee at 7-11

At the end of the day, it's Rick's car and I fully support and will help out with anything he decides on regarding said car.

I think you may be getting close to understanding a different point of view Randy  Grin
Joe is happier than many because he is driving his original car from our earlier DKK years.
Same Car - No body swap - He's driving a SURVIVOR!!
FRED said it nicely, It's ultimately Rick's car... his project... his call.  Quite unfair to do anything other than support our friend in his efforts.

Rick,
take this time to upgrade to a better year.  Everyone seems to be driving a 67, how boring.  the only thing more boring would be to be driving a vert.  who's not driving a vert these days.  I say go for something unusual, say a fastback, or a 412.  hope that helps with your decision.  Grin
