Thanks, Deano.  I did check that out, just haven't gotten back to get 'em ordered.  Happen to know the month/year with the Wallace car?

I don't have that many old issues; but here is a (partial) list of the issues I purchased, because I either liked the cover or the content:

Hot VWs - Feb. 1976 (Great shot of Lee Leighton's Oval on the cover)
Hot VWs - June 1976 (Cal Look Special)
Hot VWs - October 1976 (Rick Wallace's red Ragtop on the cover)
Hot VWs - June 1977 (DKP on the cover)
Hot VWs - March 1979 (Cal Look Special - bunch of cool cars)
Hot VWs - Feb. 1980 (Just because I like Dean K's cover shot)
Hot VWs - Dec. 1980 (Gary Berg's '67 - version 1.0)
Hot VWs - Feb. 1981 (Bug-In 25 - cool shot of DKK cars on the cover)
Hot VWs - March 1983 (Cal Look special - Larry Shaw's Bug on the cover)
Hot VWs - Jan. 1984 (Bug-In 31 - Red Rider Ghia on the cover)
Hot VWs - Sept. 1985 (Kris Klingaman's '68 drag Bug)
Hot VWs - Sept. 1990 (5 DKP cars + Gary Berg's '67 on the cover)
Hot VWs - Feb. 1992 (Hot VWs' 25th Anniversary - great pictures)
VW Trends #1
VW Trends #3 (Martinez's chop on the cover)
Rod & Custom - October 1966 (Inch Pincher on the cover)

Good luck with your hunting!

Now we're getting somewhere!

Frank, I've been around your site, it has been helpful!

Jim, I have that 90s Cal-look buildup, can you believe the huge deck height they ran on that?

Thanks for everyone's input so far.

I've got it right here...February 95.

Scat 5.50" rods, B pistons.  Just the rods and pistons came out to .061" deck.  Then they added barrel spacers and copper gaskets and ended up with .130".

From Dean Kirsten, when I asked about the motor on the CLF.
That particular engine was built out of parts laying around our back room (and was not the same engine used for the 2275). Bruce built that one, using a 78x90.5, Engle 125, unwelded Fumio heads (oh, so nice!), 1-5/8 S&S header, 9.0:1 compression ?, and borrowed 48IDAs from Clyde Berg. After we dynoed it and ran the story, it was taken apart, and put back on the shelf, Parts from it, have gone into other engines.... Total recyle job. Adam Wik dynoed it for us, when he was still in Anaheim. That was a great running engine!

Neat to have some background info.  I know there are definetly some pieces from that build I"d like in my stash.

Wow!  Almost 10 Euro's.  How much do HVW's cost?  A very cool mag, but no newstands locally carry it.

It's time for a abbo.

Ultra Vw is the only aircooled magazine we can get in Holland. Not even Volksworld! Roll Eyes

UltraVW is bit pricey IMO, and it's also the only mag we can get here - apart from the German Kaefer Scene & co.

I've got a subscription for VoWo, and I like it a lot!
I do buy UltaVW occassionally though  Smiley

Amazingly, there's a Barnes & Noble near here that carries Ultra VW.  If there's something totally awesome in it, I'll buy it.
