 Hi,
My 69 late looker is at the paint shop right now and waiting for me to decide what the final colour
should be. I have been looking hi and low for pictures of Lotus White, Toga White and Pearl White
Bugs.  If you have good pictures of any of these colours I'll be happy Smiley.  Maybe side by side pictures
of two of the mentioned colours Wink  I have a hard time seeing the difference on the pictures because of
different light conditions, locations etc. Which one is the brightest white colour??

Thanks for looking

/Rolf

Lotus white looks brighter from these photos, but that is not conclusive.
Couldn't find a Toga white.

Ask your painter if he has a mixing system, if he does look at the white mixing color. It is the white they make all the other whites from, they add tint to change it from pure white to the other colors.  I used it on my Super beetle years ago and it was nice.      Mike

Print the name of each color on a seperate peice of paper, go to your local pub, head straight to the dart board and place 1 paper at 10 o'clock, 1 at 2 o'clock and the last at 6 o'clock, all face down. grab 3 darts, step up to line line and aim for the bullseye, first paper you hit is your color. Relax, you'll be happy with any of them if you've narrowed it down to 3 Smiley

mine, Lotus White - probably the best photos I have in terms of what it looks like in real life. If you are looking for a pure, clean white I'd probably avoid it, it ain't 'snow white' but I love it. Wink

Couldn't find a Toga white.
That's because it's a pretty rare colour.  It's 1969 only.
Lotus and Pearl are pretty common at the shows.

I'd go for Toga white as it is the right colour for the model year and it is pretty rare...

Isn't Jeffery Hicken's car Toga white? Haven't seen him on here for a while, but he has posted a few pictures of his car. Smiley

i know that Georg, his type34 is toga white. but if i remember a conversation from a few years back he said to me that the white isn't 'really' that nice, but it is, allthough i can understand what he means. it is more of a grey-white as where lotus is a yellow-white, if that makes any sense at all. and again, from pics on the net it would be more then impossible to see the true colour. it even changes if the colour sample is seen in a store or in outside daylight. and also some colours look good on samples, but just don't work on a car/beetle/... and visa versa.

Good memory, Nicolas! Cheesy

Yes, I am not a big fan of toga white, at least on my Ghia (but it's the og color). Like Nicolas said, it's a grayish white. It may suite a Cal Look Beetle good, because it is a kind of boring color (imho) and helps with the sleeper theme. If you like grey shades, go for it. If you prefer creamy colors, go for lotus or pearl.

I love true pearls painted over any color -- and a blue pearl is nice --- My recommendation is a mother of pearl shot over white and that is an extraordinary combination -- -- chit u want stock colors -- never mind LOL

White whites have blue tinting in them -- for some reason a white looks whiter with blue tinting added -- -- (sorry -- too many years hanging around painters LOL) -- Blue cars run better
