Thank you to Kobus,Mike, and Freddy for having me host the Worlds Largest VW event EBI once again. And thanks to Russell Ritchie for making the awesome accommodations and for the awesome shirts and other apparel, YOU ARE A CLASS ACT..!! Just back after being on the road for the last few weeks and my mind is reeling with memories of the European community. I was pleasently surprised to see the grandstands FULL on sunday and have to apologize for not reserving my voice for the remainder of the event after expelling so much energy over the duration of the weekend. I am realizing that Im NOT the spring chicken I was 35 years ago when i started my announcing career/LOL...>>time to insert thanks to my fellow speakers Dimi and Thomas who did a stand up job filling in. When not on the tarmac to announce or help with anything I was going to and from the front gate/car show/off road course/and vendor row trying my best in keeping the energy high as possible. Thanks to Paul of type 3 detectives for allowing me to enjoy some "group jam time"on sunday. For those that dont know already the properties adjacent to the facility were in fact FULL to capacity of vws of every type as well as other vehicles that showed up to join in on the festivities. Not one out of control problem considering the 20,000+ on hand to enjoy the EBI experience. Congrats to my long time friend Simon Emory from paintbox/U.K. for the outstanding attention to detail on the Lightning bug restoration. Mark and Paul Schley were blown away and had tears of joy throughout the weekend. Thanks also to Lee and the outstanding track crew who allowed me to enjoy myself and interact with the racers and to help out with policing the track. After the event my body felt like Robin Hood and Little John had put me through the gauntlet and had to rest a bit prior to the banquet dinner. After my brief 1/2 hour rest i regained my lost energy and forged onward closing down the banquet hall by 4 a.m. ...LOL   Thanks to Deano and the Schleys for the driving and for taking such good care of me. EBI ROCKS...!!!   bababaBAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH..!!!    peace out to all/Dyno Don
