Hello,

I just purchased a truckload of 70's and 80's vintage speed and stock parts from a retired local VW engine builder.  He had saved a bunch of stuff to someday build himself his dream engine.  He has since moved on to BMW motorcycles.  Among other things (pics coming) I have all of the parts to build an old school 74x88 1800cc.  He spoke very highly of the "ol' Treuhaft 0123" cam.  There are some stories around town about his engines eating up 5.0's and camaro's in the late 80's.

I am just trying to find some cam specs for it before I put the engine together.

Here are some of the engine parts he had ready to assemble.

as21 case bored for machine-in 88's
KS 88mm P&C set
Speed Unlimited 74mm full circle crank, NIB
stock rods, rebushed
043 stock valve heads, he hadn't gotten to porting them yet.  I will add dual springs, 3 angle, and port them
40mm DCNF's w/ linkage and filters on berg manifolds
Treuhaft 0123 cam
NIB Treuhaft retainers
OG Empi 1.4 rockers
Empi magnesium sump
finned valve covers,
NOS 010, or 019 blue screamer
all tin sand blasted, doghouse shroud with venturi ring, good heater boxes, and an old header with a single QP.

I think it will be a really good combo for daily work and running through the hills all year round.  I will start a new topic in a day or two with the other parts, as I will need help ID'ing some of the stuff.

I am just wondering what the specs on the Treuhaft 0123 are, and if I should swap it to something different.  The cam is used, but he said it will still be fine.  It will be going into my '68 looker D.Driver that is getting closer to paint.

Thanks, Brian

Back in the day, there was a Treuhaft 32-012 camshaft which was very similar to the Engle 110...
