tom, LOSER..., time was about 45 min... hot here, floor jack in pea gravel....No shade, besides my shadow. The black 62 544, first year b18 engine(1800 cc) twin su's, was just like my 63 black 544 that I used to own/race at the vw rallies back in dkp days. Mike Billings remembers me beating him on dale st, when his 67 had a 1641 , dual 42 webers. I went through alot of motor mounts dropping the clutch. I start my diet tomorrow, never saw that side of me . lol  bill

Not only does he beat my ass with that  car that's more odd looking than anything that ever came out of Wolfsburg or Puebla or wherever but thirty years later I'm forced to service the damned thing on my hands and knees in a 100 degree gravel pit wearing short pants with my bald pate exposed skyward.
Re-humiliation!
I did learn however that the motor wasn't located behind the rear wheels. I know cause as you can see in the first picture, I looked.  Grin
