Hiya,

i'm slowly collecting and balancing/blue printing part for a 2180 build, EFI and Crank fired ect ect... its my first VW engine build and i soon realised after starting it would be 3 things, 1) EXPENSIVE 2) LONG TERM 3) EXPENSIVE  Grin but hey ho!
so far i have:
cases out being cut
CB super race 82mm crank (will be dynamically balanced with the rest of the rotating assembly)
mahle forged 92's (will be weight matched to 0.1g)
CB Uni Tech HD rods (will be end to end'd)
CB bigfoot lifters (just what i have)
Bugpack 1.4 forged lifters
CB 044 40x35 heads
and probably some other bits kicking around.

so i have some 044 heads with 40x35 valves, dual springs ect

after alot of reading on various forums (hadnt joined here before i started sadly) i decided on a oval port job, made up a template and drew it on, started to work with the carbide burr....
in terms of how much of the valve i can see its made a great improvement!

right one is further along

again, left one is further along

so after making the entry shape, i've been trying to follow that down the port some what and smooth it all out, taking material from the outside edges to give a better shot to the valve....

just wondering if anyone had any pointers and tip and improvements i can make as i carry on here....

also started unshrouding the intakes and removing sharp endges in the chambers.

its all in progress thus the lack of final blending ect...

any help would be ace!

cheers!
