yes lee it is a stock 69mm crank. i couldnt afford a counter weighted crank at that time when i originally got the engine bits together. its lighter than a c/w crank is revs up a treat but it just means the case will get more of a pounding.

Wow! What do you rev it to?
I looked at your car at avon park at the end of october (came up with Martin aka gold65turbo) its spot on.
Are you still selling the gearbox?

Hi guys,

Thanks for the comments on the engine dude - its my little baby  Smiley its an awsome engine and pulls like a train  Smiley The DDS manifold works really well as does the old style 3 bolt weber

As for the Wheels they are Original Cal Part mags (in wide 5 pattern/ 205-5) They are all aluminuim and have a huge offset  Shocked and from what I can tell they are pretty rare I also spent approx 15 hours polishing the rim on each wheel  Tongue here's a pic that "Lids" took at Stonner park earlier this year.

someday we will have to have a good laugh about all those nights I would get my room-mate at the time fiercely jealous of anybody else in our club that he might have the slightest suspicion of "somebody out-gunning" him  Roll Eyes. I'd drag home stuff like short IDA welded manifolds from Buggy House, write "John" on them in black marker and just leave them on the coffee table for all to see. Or a Vertex mag with "Sheep" written in Marks a Lot on it. This guy would have veins standing out of his forehead.

A quick update on the old 1776 Ian ran in his split. When Ian built his 1850 I bought his old 1776 and gearbox. Over the following years Ian and and I kept making small improvements and eventually we got to a point where it ran a string of 11.9's. The car was light for a street car at around 1500 lbs with me in it. It remained a street car all this time and was driven to and from the track and back then I had more free time so did quite a lot of street miles too.
The good news is the engine and box has now gone / going to a new home and Mark the new owner plans to continue developing the combination over the coming years, so watch this space for news from Mark once he gets the car finished!
The other thing is that it was a very reliable combo that was great fun to drive!

My Beetle is 1914cc omex 600, t3/4 turbo makes 206 bhp
in a street weight car running slicks my PB is 11.85 @ 107 (average top speed is usually 114~ish)
Not bad at all for a almost full weight street legal (with road tyres!) car with an ikkle 1914  Cheesy
