Info about the car:

Known history: The car was produced in December 1951. It's L11 pastel green(the car still has its original paint). It was delivered in February 1952 to a company producing concrete name Oulun Betoni Oy, in Finland. The story goes that the company got the car as a free gift when they bought several trucks at the same time. The company had the car in trafic until 1976 and they sold it 1982 as a project. 1982-2007 there where 3 owners. The guy I bought the car from stripped it but didn't do more for it. I put it together 2010-2012.

Repaired during year 2011:

- Rust repairs: among others New floor pans, heater channels, Spare Tire Tray, Beetle Rear Quarter Panel Section left side, Rear Cross Member Under Rear Seat both sides etc.

Replaced sheet metals are painted with rust paint and a green color. Unfortunately some weldings are not perfectly done.

Approximately all the parts in chassis and brakes are replaiced or repared.

Among others:

- All the brake parts are new (except rear brake drums) for example EMPI disc brakes

- New CSP adjustable axle beam and torsion bars

- New link pin set and king pin set in used original 58-64 beetle spindles (NO drop spindles)

- All new bearings front and rear

- All new tie rods

- New TRW steering box, new steering box drop, steering coupling disc, steering damper. All the worn out seals in chassis where replaced. etc. etc.

- Good working transmission from 54-57 bug with nosecone from 55-59 bus. New swing axel boots.

Repaired year 2012:

New engine 1,9 ca. 100hp. I drove about 4 000km with this motor in the summer 2012. Nice driver. New tires with 16” rims.

Distributor changed to rebuild original 009 Bosch

Almost all original split bug parts come with the car: Pillows, ash trays and so on. Albert mirrors and roof rack.

Finnish MOT done 30th of April 2013.

12v electricty

Down sides for the die hard enthusiasts:

- New universal repro electrical wiring set is installed along floor not along roof line.

- Upholstery is worn out.

- Used pre 64 running boards.

Things that should be done:

- Fix shrink tubing for wiring

- Weld/screw a pipe from fron fender to body for wiring(the correct parts are bought).

- Door window lift mechanism for driver side. It’s only working 7cm

- Fix new glass to speedometer, speedometer is working good

- Fix check rods for doors.
