I know most of us are not using W8AC Bosch plugs in their engines, but what do you use and why. i know the tread and length of the plugs can differ, but it isn't always clear to me which plug to use/when. (heat range, projected tip or not, platinum tip, multiple tips,…)
i have been using NGK B6ES or NGK BR6ES with good results in both the 1776 and 2276, but the question came up again now that i will make the 2007 with a higher CR. both engines are very different in specs, but both have a CR of 8.5 and 8.7. so not only CR plays its part, but cam timing, rpm range, fuel delivery,… must influence it all as well.

Bosch W7AC... same as their old number 175T1. Haven't had 'em out in the fourteen years the motor's been together.
In the old days when there was more compression, guys ran 225T1 (W6AC)... one step colder. The W8AC is too hot.

NGK plugs don't like a rich set-up.
go for iridium tips if possible

Does the type of ignition play into this? For example, a hot street car with say 12 to 1... D8EA's with a typical MSD set-up. Would you need to change if using a Mag?

I've never had good luck with Bosch and NGKs have never failed me. We sell both so I can have my pick. All of my Detroit Iron use NGK as well as the VWs and the BMWs.
