Dropped Spindles

First of all, new guy here with first post. Just got a pretty clean '70 Bug with a few mods to the engine. 1600 with dual ports, Solex carb, 009 dist., and Bosch coil. Now, I have a question about dropped spindles. Can I use dropped spindles for disc brakes with drum brakes? I'm thinking that way, I wouldn't have to change spindles again when I convert to discs. Thanks.

If the disc brake spindles have been drilled and tapped to allow drum brake backing plates, I don't see why not. I've never seen a set that have been drilled though, you could possibly do it yourself if there is enough material there.
Best thing to do is convert to discs when you swap the spindles. No guesswork.
