Who on here has experience running any of the larger diameter heater boxes? I'm considering stepping up from stock on my medium-level 1914, and really want to know who makes the best ones. For a reference, I'm running 40x35.5 044's, 120 cam, 1.25 rockers, 9.5:1 compression, and Empi 44 HPMX carbs. I'd also prefer to stay away from sidewinder-style headers, they don't bolt up to my glasspack very well...

i opened stock heater boxes and replaced the aluminum heat exchanger pipes with J-tubes. just dont expect a lot of heat

I had a set of "no name" (dansk maybe? I don't remember) big bore heater boxes back in 2007 or so, the finish was pretty rough on the flanges, lots of casting flash/welding glob/whatever, they needed some work to get the whole 1.5 inch diameter usable.

Those were 95% certain JP Group. They all need some grinding to be real 1½" through the flanges. The SS CSP usually do not need that, but they are also significantly more money, and of course stainless.

cip1 sells a selection of different size CSP heater boxes for a reasonable price. They aren't stainless so maybe there is another line of stainless models in the different sizes?

No, none of them do. I've yet to try them for myself but I've repeatedly heard that they are not very effective. Maybe those and some seat heaters will get you by if your winter isn't too harsh.

Colorado doesn't really do mild winter/spring... then again, this car is turning into less of a daily than it used to be.

40hp? style stale air heater boxes with the larger dia. pipe installed works great for me, and puts out an enormous amount of heat.
