Does anybody know anything about it?

What kind of conversion is needed to the type 1 engine to make it run on acohol?
Is it possible to create a daily driven fast bug running on E85 or even E100?

Alcohol production ain't no difficult task Smiley

Problem is alcohol attracts moisture and corrodes all your equipment badly. Off road guys and a dragster guy I know all say they have to purge their systems to keep disasters away. In the states, California, any way, the small content of alcohol in our gas is enough for you to observe the white powdery crap that starts to accumulate inside float bowls when your car sits for a few days. You'll also need enormous jets.

There are lots of alcohols. One is Ethanol. That is the kind you have in your beer. Harmless to most rubber etc.
One other alcohol is Methanol. That is the alcohol often used in drag racing, speedway etc. Don't drink it, you'll go blind or die! It will also harm rubber and your motor oil.
I used E85 last season and it works good. I ran 215 main jets if I remember correct. Big, but not enourmous.
