It's old school for a reason

Got a bit of a problem

My scat rockers rattled off a while ago whilst making a pass a shakey.  There now seems to a problem with the adjustment of the rocker arms. There is a significant difference in one of the rocker arm screw adjustment when adjusted compared to the rest. Thought I may have a bent pushrods but this seems fine. Is is likely to be a broken or damaged lifter or cam lobe.

Any advice gratefully received

Engine doesn't sound ticky or run rough
Thanks in advance

Ps rocker arms rotate freely but mounting block on rocker arms has a tight spot

Does the pad that rubs on lash cap look ok, does it still have lash cap even? that would about right extra adjustment if it was missing

Otherwise most likely lifter failing, cam goes flat on nose which doesn't affect lash at zero as its set on other side of cam

cheers Richie

hi Richie

Just double checked and the caps are all still on but the one on that valve is quite tight , just run the pushrod across the granite top in the kitchen, there's  approximately a 2mm lift when you roll it. would that be enough for the screw to be that far off ??

Quite possibly, swap another pushrod into that hole and set lash, see how it looks then Smiley

Hi Richie

Didn't get a chance to check until this evening. Defiantly seems to be the push rod. I swapped them over as you suggested and it puts the adjustment screw back where it should be.  Hoping to dust the car off so I can squeeze that 12 out of the car before I swap the motors over.  Wink

Thanks again for your help

Regards Ron
